  • Free Music Monday 19/03/2012: Garbage

GarbageFirstly, today is a good day, not only cos it’s a Bank Holiday but also because it’s my little sister’s birthday. Happy Birthday Cory! Anyway for this special day there is no one else I could recommend more than probably my favourite band in the world ever, Garbage. I really can’t wait for their new album, ‘Not Your Kind of People’. Not sure the band has much choice is letting this track out as a free download, it has been floating round the interwebs for a while. ‘Blood for Poppies’ is typically what we’d expect from Garbage and i’m not disappointed. The album is out on May 15th.

You can get your download after the jump.

  • Free Music Monday 12/03/2012: Lianne La Havas

liannelahavasIn quick snappy time, a new Lianne La Havas date was announced for The Academy on May 9th 2012, in what seemed like just hours after her gig in The Sugar Club on Saturday night. If you haven’t heard her now is a great time to bag yourself a copy of ‘The E.P. Live in L.A.’ and see what the fuss is all about.

  • Free Music Monday 05/03/2012: Bravestation

bravestationI was searching for what could be this week’s recommended free music when I found this track had landed in my email. I like the 80’s new wave, laid back vibe of this track. ‘Signs of the Civilised’ comes from Toronto based band Bravestation and is the first track to have surfaced from their debut album which is due for release this summer. I really like the band’s use of layered vocals and the atmospheric instrumentation, just what I needed. This bodes well for the album, looking forward to hearing it on the back of this.
