The London Ear on RTE 2XM // Show 57 featuring Adamski // Nov 26 2014

    Londonear57

Last week I had the pleasure of catching up with Adamski. Alongside Seal, he is responsible for one of the best tracks of the last 25 years.

For the past number of years, Adamski has been working mainly as an underground club DJ. But, now he’s back with a brand new EP and a brand new sound, which he calls ‘Futurewaltz’, dance music in a 3/4 time signature.

Adamski was very generous with his time and I really enjoyed our chat so it was only right and fair that today’s show was devoted to his music.

    Here’s today’s running order:

    1. The London Ear Intro
    2. Adamski: Belle of the Speedball
    3. Chat with Adamski (Part 1)
    4. Adamski featuring Harmony: Detonate my Luv
    5. Chat with Adamski (Part 2)
    6. Adamski: Cuckoo Blood
    7. Chat with Adamski (Part 3)
    8. Adamski and David McAlmont: The Last Waltz
    9. Chat with Adamski (Part 4)
    10. Adamski featuring Buck Dexter: Pump Up The Waltz
    11. Adamski: NRG
    12. Adamski featuring Seal: Killer

Thanks for listening, You can listen live every Wednesday at 1400 and the repeat of show is aired on Sunday nights at 2100. You can listen to the show again on the RTE player.

    Painting and Decorating….

    underconstruction

Just a quick update, I’ve been having a few website issues over the past while, so I changed themes this week. Please excuse anything that may seem a little off with images or layout. I’ll be working on this over the next week or so to make everything all nice and shiny again.

    Thanks for your patience.

Here’s something to make you smile.

  • Tune of the Week: Public Service Broadcasting – Gargarin

Tune of the Week: Public Service Broadcasting – Gargarin

    PSB_Space

Public Service Broadcasting are back and for their second album, due out on February 2015, they are looking at ‘The Race for Space’. This time round, the BFI have given PSB use of its archive of the Soviet Space Race.

‘Gargarin’, based on Yuri, the first cosmonaut in space, is released as a single on December 1st. If you pre-order the album now, you’ll get an automatic download on December 1st.

PSB are so clever with the combination of samples and visuals for their videos that easily spills over to their live shows. They go on tour with Kaiser Chiefs in February before two album launch shows in the National Space Center in Leicester. The band then head off to the US and to SXSW before coming back to the UK and Ireland for an album tour.

Back to the single and its awesome video. It’s the best thing you’ll see all week.

Video // Bastille – Torn Apart (Bastille VS. Grades)

    OtherPeoplesHeartache3

Read the headlines, “Bastille in Alien Sex Shocker!” Well, not quite but you have to giggle with an alien sex scene pixelated out.

Other People’s Heartaches Parts 1 and 2 were free downloads and some of the tracks actually made it to the ‘All this Bad Blood’ double album. This time round, Bastille have gone legit with Part 3, aka Vs. and the history of previous mixtapes lets them do some experimenting in between album releases.

When I spoke to Dan in August 2013, the second album was being worked on and he was pretty eager to get the material out and there’s no doubt that the success the band have had in the US over the past year has contributed to the delay in Album Number 2.

Vs. will be released on December 8. We’ve already heard Weapons (vs Angel Haze and F*U*G*Z) and The Driver, which featured on Zane Lowe’s reimagination of the Drive Soundtrack. Also featured on the 9 track release are HAIM, MNEK, and Torn Apart features Grades.

The video for ‘Torn Apart’ features Michael Jackson, Black or White style morphing with becomes slightly weird with aliens. Well I guess if it didn’t I wouldn’t be talking about it. What do you think?
