Editors: A Ton of Love (Video)

editorsNo sooner than Zane Lowe declared Editors’ A Ton of Love, ‘Hottest Record In The World’ this evening, then the band waste no time in revealing a video to accompany the track. It will be released on June 24th in the UK and is taken from the band’s fourth album ‘The Weight Of Your Love’’, which will be released by Play It Again Sam on July 1st.

The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Of Monsters And Men, Kings Of Leon) and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arctic Monkeys, The Horrors, Arcade Fire). Since Chris Urbanowicz left the band last year, it will feature new Editors, Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams.

If you preorder the album now you will get an instant download of ‘A Ton of Love’. Preorder deets for regular and deluxe releases can be found on editorsofficial.com

So what do you think of the song? I like it, has a certain 1980’s feel to it.

Tune of the Week 06/05/2013: John Murry – California

JohnMurrybannerThis week sees the release of John Murry‘s album ‘The Graceless Age’ which is a gem, check out the stream below. I’m taking track 2, California, and making it my Tune of the Week. The slightly jerky video was filmed in San Francisco, I once went to a fortune teller on one of the featured streets. But once you get past that you unearth the most gorgeous gravely voice.

John is playing this Thursday, May 9th in The Workmans Club and Rubyworks have the honour of releasing The Graceless Age on this part of the planet.

Stick on a cuppa and listen to The Graceless Age:

Download: The Money Go Round – Endless Sun

TheMoneyGoRoundThe Money Go Round are a five piece from Sydney, Australia and going on ‘Endless Sun’, shouldn’t have any trouble spreading their psychedelic sound to the masses. Listening to ‘Endless Sun’, I’m somehow transported through time to the late sixties, oh and yes the sun is shining.

Endless Sun is the follow up to their debut single, ‘YAYAYA’. This is another awesome release from The A & R Department. I’ve already played this on Culture Cafe and most definitely will again.

You can download ‘Endless Sun’ for free from Soundcloud or the widget below.
