Rob Kelly – Jack The Ripper (Video)

RobKelly2There’s no denying that over the past couple of years, Irish hiphop has been getting a little more attention and quite rightly so. What has emerged are sonically, a talented bunch MCs and producers and visually, this has given up and coming film makers the opportunity to make some kick ass videos.

Here’s the new track from Rob Kelly, ‘Jack The Ripper’, which was produced by Scimon Tist. Guy Richie should be well chuffed with the ‘Snatch’ inspired video, directed by Jonathan Lambert. As well as that, not only was the track mixed and mastered by Terawritz, he also gets in front of the camera for a bit of acting for the vid. Talented bunch, this lot!

Tune of the Week 24/03/2013: Spring Offensive – No Assets

SpringOffensive_bannerI’m really liking this track from Oxford quintet Spring Offensive. No Assets is rhythmically driven, slightly jerky and has a beautifully understated bass line, it cleverly tells the perils of being broke and making plans for the future.

No Assets also has a cool video which was made by 12 chest mounted iPhone cameras filming simultaneously.

I like this a lot, looking forward to finding out more about these guys.

Download: The Naked and Famous – One Temporary Escape (Live Concert Film)

The Naked and Famous have been one of my favourite bands over the past few years. They announced in June last year that they had finished touring their album ‘Passive Me, Aggressive You’. Hopefully that means that they’re hard at work on some new material.

In the meantime, the band have released a full live concert film available for free download on their website. One Temporary Escape was directed by Jordan Blady and was filmed in The Fillmore in San Francisco.

I still can’t believe that this is FREE. IF you’re not sure what to do tonight, download this!

Update: You can no longer download One Temporary Escape, but you can watch it on YouTube.
