I actually found it really hard to write this. I enjoyed the gig so much that I didn’t want to appear gushing, but Oh My God! These guys are amazing.
It’s not just JD, it’s the whole band who make this what it is. Something quite special indeed. You can read my review on Goldenplec.
JD’s album ‘Signs and Signifiers’ is out now. You can listen to it on Rolling Stone, have a look at the video for ‘A Gentle Awakening’ below.
Today saw the unveiling of George Michael’s video for White Light. I’m not going to write anymore about the track, I’ve done that already except to say Oh My! I’m not sure any video could be more imagery packed.. Good job!
There’s so much free music available now, free legal music, that it can be quite easy to get caught up with downloading large amounts of music and still miss out on the real gems. This is why every Monday, I try to pick out some of the best free music around that I can find.
Today’s find is ‘The Isis Papers Volume 3’ brought to you by Cyrus Malachi, a London based hip hop artist who has opened for world known acts like Wu Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah and Method Man. It also features Triple Darkness & HellzEcho and our own Rob Kelly can be heard on Track 5, Glass Jaws and Lethal Dialect teams up with Tesla’s Ghost on Fellow Craftsmen. Download it for free now from Bandcamp.
There’s no doubt that ‘Remember When’ being in a Discover Ireland advert brought Heathers to a lot more people’s attention than would have previously known of the Macnamara twins, Ellie and Louise, aka Heathers.
Well, fast forward twelve months and the pair have a new album ready to unleash, ‘Kingdom’ will be released in September.
In the run up to the release the pair will be gigging around the land..
Heathers have also released this single, ‘Forget Me Knots’ which you may have heard on the telly (actual programmes this time, no adverts!). I actually really like this song and find it quite uplifting. It features the refrain which many of us forget… ‘It’s alright not to feel ok’.
