Foxy’s Back and this time brought a friend (Video)

foxyandjuniorI’m starting to feel like a wildlife documentary maker but I really can’t believe that all this is happening in our back yard. Yes, our garden is an overgrown heap and we call it the Nature Reserve. You’ll even find it on foursquare if you look.

Today, Foxy brought a little buddy, I was making brunch and everytime a noise was made, they would look up, the microwave pinged and Foxy looked straight at me in the kitchen. I’ve come to the conclusion now that they make the Nature Reserve their home and once we get up, they leg it. The pair then moved from where they were to a slightly more hidden spot. Foxy went in behind a privet hedge, while Junior just sat in the long grass, no more than eight feet from our back door.

I wish I had an army of cameras I could set up in the garden and capture their movements. It’s just awesome.

Fossil Collective: Let It Go EP Review

For a while within the music industry, E.P.s were a no mans land, caught between a single and a full length album, not having their own stake or claim on any chart. They just existed. Extended Play releases seem to be making a comeback, perhaps down to the fact that with everything being so instant and so fast that it actually really hard to get a listeners attention for ten or twelve tracks. Introduce yourself with five cracking tracks and you’re on a winner.

Fossil Collective’s Let It Go EP has had me lost for words for a while. The title track opens proceedings with its seventies country folk tinged vibes. Every time I hear the opening of this track, I can’t quite put my finger on it, the hairs stand on the back of my neck. It’s like a favourite blanket that you wrap around you to keep warm on a winter’s night.

This warmth continues through the E.P., ‘Satellite’ echoing Neil Young vibes circa Harvest Moon. ‘Guaratuba’ has a simple guitar line accompanied by a lone shaker, when the reverbed vocals ease their way into the track, it easily takes you over, so gentle, so subtle.

The duo from Leeds really have pulled it out of the bag with this E.P., it makes me want to listen over and over again. This collection of songs have been playing for a few weeks now, they are they kind of songs that could easily become the soundtrack to your life.

    Simply beautifully awesome.

New single: Pink – Blow Me (One Last Kiss) Watch/Listen

Yes I like my pop and yes, I love P!nk. I’ve seen her live a few times and she is a stunning performer and I’ve yet to see anyone rival her. So, last we heard, P!ink and Carey were hanging out in Pantibar in Dublin and riding off on motorcycles around our Green Isle before she became the world’s hottest Mom! (See I’m keeping it clean here) Anyway she’s back in the game making music and has just unleashed this soon to be massive hit on the world. No, you won’t see it on the Irish Pinkspage you got to go to Pink’s US website.

Ah yes, Pink keeping it real with her no nonsense lyrics, do your ears a favour.. you’re welcome!

    Free Music Monday 02/07/2012: Caan

I love being able to tell you about free music and when it’s someone who has become one of my must listen to artists over the past year or so, it’s even better.

Caan (ex – Ou Est Le Swimming Pool) has been making a name for himself and building a reputation for making good honest electro music, complete with yes, thoughtful lyrics. Anyway Caan has been very generous over the past while, giving his music away free and now has a new single out, ‘Into The Night’. You can get the single along with three other remixes of the song from Facebook.

Really good music and Caan’s a decent bloke too, download it!

    Here’s the video:

Here are the remixes so you know what you’re getting.
