    Home: Fregoli Theatre Company (video)

Fregoli Theatre Company are doing something kind of different. They went out onto the streets and asked people some questions about ‘Home’, what home meant to them. From the answers they received, they are now putting a play together entitled ‘Home’. Really cool idea.

Here’s a video of some of the answers, which was made by the ultra talented Jenny May Finn.

Free Music Monday 18/06/2012: White Light Parade

White Light Parade are a Bradford based band and after a two year time out are back with a new single ‘Want You To Know’. The band have previously received National radio support in the UK and also had their track ‘Riot in The City’ featured in ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’.

After coming off tour for their debut album which was entitled ‘House Of Commons’, the band wanted to test themselves and experiment with their sound. Cue new drummer and ESPN using the track ‘Young Believers’ for their baseball coverage to give the band a new leash of life.

‘Want You To Know’ will be released on Split Records later this year. You can get the remix from ‘Is Tropical’ below:

Here’s the video for the original version of the track:

Back to Life: James Joyce on Bloomsday

BacktoLifeI thought I’d share this with you. A few of the guys I was in college with, did this as their final project. Back to Life is a project which brings some of Dublin’s statues to life through animation. Other Dublin statues covered are Oscar Wilde, Phil Lynott, Charles Stewart Parnell, Brendan Behan and Patrick Kavanagh. You can get all the full information on backtolife.ie Seeing as it’s Bloomsday, here’s James Joyce.

Oh, you can get the subtitles in a few different languages, which is handy.

DCUfm Afternoon Playlist: 15/06/2012 – My Last Show

My first show on DCUfm was on September 30th 2009. It was the very first Culture Cafe, I’ve lost count of how many shows I’ve done since then. I’ve had LOTS of fun. Thanks to everyone who ever did an interview, sent me music, came in for a chat, chatting on the phone. Thanks to the dustbin guy who passed at the same time every week and became a regular part of the show.

Thanks to the management of station. This year Seamus and RJ and before that Denis and Alan who did a great job in keeping everything together.

So today was my last show. I’ll be done in DCU in about six weeks so it’s time for the big bad world. Thanks for listening. Oh, perspective radio employers.. I’m available for work 🙂
