  • Wonder Villains: Ferrari Review

Ferrari is the follow up to Wonder Villain’s debut Zola. Instead of tackling the world of soccer, this time WVs go for fast cars and this track has rapidly won me over, perhaps even more than Zola did.

The sickenly talented foursome from Derry have adapted a pop indie sound that is destined to win fans over. Uptempo with a driving synth bass line, this song will surely get the crowd going at many festivals this Summer. It’s catchy, quirky electro indie pop, glorious and delightful.. This is out on February 17th, I want to know when the album’s due.

  • Tune of The Week 27/01/2012: Spector

SpectorI’m really liking this track. Spector are signed to Universal, I’ve been listening to an album sampler from them. Over the past week or so have been making serious airplay waves in the UK, being featured on Radio 1 and on XFM.

I love how their website has the tagline ‘Nothing You Haven’t Seen Before’, that maybe true but these guys seem to have take the post punk esque sound of bands like The Vaccines and given it a good injection of energy. Catch Spector on tour in the UK in February, where they will be joined by David’s Lyre. This week’s Tune of The Week is Spector and Chevvy Thunder.

  • Culture Cafe Podcast: David Bury (Calling All Astronauts) Interview

    Culture Cafe David Bury

This is the full interview I did with David Bury from Calling All Astronauts. Part of this interview was broadcast on Culture Cafe Show 27 on January 25th 2012. This is the full interview including where we talk a little about the state of our respective countries and how music and politics can easily mingle to get a message across.

We also chat about how Calling All Astronauts are a totally DIY band on the UK scene.
