  • Tune of The Week 23/10/2011: Christophe Willem

ChristopheWillemNormally I post the Tune of the Week on a Friday, this week I totally forgot so I’m doing it today. I’ll keep it short, I love Christophe Willem and I love how this video is set in a mental hospital. The video for Double Je was at a support group. Christophe originally one ‘Nouvelle Star’, the French equivalent of Pop Idol.

This is taken from his third album, Prismophonic, which is out in November. This week’s Tune of The Week is Christophe Willem and Cool.

  • Interview with Jonathon from Other Lives

otherlivesOther Lives play The Academy 2 on Sunday October 23rd. The band have just released their second album ‘Tamer Animals’. Jonathan Mooney from the Oklahoma band took some time out of his schedule to answer a few questions.

Hello! Hope you’re having a nice day! Where are you and what are you up to right now?

We are traveling through the English countryside right now, coffee in hand, enjoying the view.

You’re coming to Europe for a month? What are you looking forward to on this tour?

I know it sounds convenient to say this but we’re really looking forward to Dublin in a few days. We didn’t make it last time around and we were kind of bummed.

You’ve just released Tamer Animals, how do you feel about the album now that it’s out in the world?

It felt good to get it out. We spent a lot of time on this record and are very proud of it. We’ve also enjoyed playing this record more than we have in the past.

  • Westlife Split!

westlifeFirst thing I did when I heard this was ring my sister who has all but one of Westlife‘s singles, her reaction ‘Oh!’. To be honest Westlife, even though I did see them live twice, were one step away from heading to the Daniel O’Donnell circuit and it was time to hang up their hats. But yes, I do think Mark is talented.

So it has been reported by The Sun that the band’s next tour, which follows the release of another Greatest Hits album, will be their last.

It’s not the first time the demise of the band has been reported. When Brian McFadden left to er, what did he do again?, the band did not split as expected but carried on regardless. Sniff! My ‘favourite’ Westlife song has to be ‘World of our Own’ but the ‘stand up for the keychange’ boys sucked the life completely out of it when the dreaded keychange came. Keychange comes at 2.35, so there’s your warning.
