  • Snow Patrol: This Isn’t Everything You Are (video)

snowpatrolI would never really called myself a fan of Snow Patrol but I’m liking what they are up to at the moment.

The band have a new album, Fallen Empires, which is due for release on November 11th. ‘This Isn’t Everything You Are’ is the follow up single to ‘Called Out In The Dark’. This video was filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I absolutely love the grading on it. Yummy!

  • abaraYesterday I interviewed Leah Johnston, Festival Manager of Abära for an interview which will be aired on Wednesday October 19th on Culture Cafe on RTE 2XM.

The few days sound amazing and the positivity I got from just speaking to Leah about the festival was amazing.  It’s a great inspiring way to highlight disabilities but also to highlight the talents and determination of those with disabilities.

Here’s what you need to know:

Abära, Ireland’s first ever International Disability Film Festival kicks off this October with a selection of stunning films from around the world. Aimed at celebrating the progress made by people with disabilities while increasing awareness and understanding of the many challenges still faced by people with disabilities across the globe, Abära opens on Thursday, October 20th and continues until October 23rd.

  • Benjamin Francis Leftwich: Shine (video)

bfl_shineThe ever adorable and extremely talented Benjamin Francis Leftwich releases his new single ‘Shine’ on November 7th in the UK, so Ireland should be November 4th. This cleverly coincides with Ben’s tour of the UK & Ireland and his Sugar Club date on November 2nd.

Shine is taken from Ben’s album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’. This video was made by Pip who has taken all Ben’s photographs.

  • Tune of The Week 14/10/2011: The Chevin

The ChevinI’ve been listening to this for a few weeks now and I really like it. This is the debut from The Chevin, a Leeds band who have just signed to Fierce Panda. Other than that I don’t know a whole lot about The Chevin.

Upbeat indie, a little hint of The Killers, this would be a gem live. This week’s Tune of The Week is The Chevin with Champion.
