  • Interview with Bitches With Wolves – For Arthur’s Day

BwwSometimes when you walk into a room, there’s someone there who’s personality just fills every inch. James O’Neill, frontman with Bitches With Wolves is one such person and what’s even nicer is that it’s no ego. He’s just a really nice upbeat guy, who loves what he’s doing and totally believes in it.

As part of Arthur’s Day I caught up with James for a chat. What’s not to adore about someone when they say you’ve a voice like honey and a haircut that’s not too bad because the weather is awful..(My hair looked like sh1t!).

  • Interview with Bell X1 – For Arthur’s Day

bell-x1-21Here’s one interview from Arthur’s Day that I was actually kinda nervous about. What exactly do you ask Bell X1? They are arguably the biggest band there is in Ireland.

So with help from my two sisters, who are fans of the band, I was armed with some questions..

I didn’t expect a full scale debate about ice cream and I ended up with some great quotes like ‘Do you not get that fruity urge sometimes?’ and ‘We could probably soundtrack a James Bond lesbian kiss’.

    Intriqued? Read it on Goldenplec.

  • Tune(s) Of The Week 30/09/2011: Lana Del Ray

LanaDelRayI had absolutely no choice but to choose these tracks. It’s a while since I’ve heard of anyone actually releasing a AA single but Lana Del Ray is different in many respects. I can see why Video Games and Blue Jeans were released together. Video Games is understated and produced superbly with just vocals and strings and subtle timpani.

Blue Jeans has echoes of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game and also features some fantastic vocals. I love the production on this too, mixing very classic stylings and samples. These two tracks have been on repeat since I heard them first. A really great new artist to excited about.
