  • Competition: Win tickets to Agatha Christie’s Verdict at The Gaiety

AgathaChristieVerdict-GaietySo Agnatha Christie is known as the Queen of Crime and Verdict comes to The Gaiety Theatre in Dublin from October 17 – 22nd.

Interestingly, Written and first performed in 1958, Verdict is one of Christie’s few original plays which is not based on a novel or short story. It premiered in the West End in May 1958, and ran for 250 performances, before later going on to open in New York and Luxembourg.

I have two tickets to give away for the opening night on October 17th. To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is tell me if you were a bad guy in a story, what would your name be? And sure while you’re at it, you can like my Facebook page too! The competition will run until Tuesday 4th October at 1700.

    Good luck!

I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Eason’s 125th Birthday celebrations last night.

It was a lovely mix of history and stories and speakers on the night included the authors Cathy Kelly, Paul Howard (better known as Ross O’Carroll Kelly) and the Queen of Irish writing Maeve Binchy. You’ll be able to hear some of Maeve’s words on Culture Cafe on 2XM on Wednesday October 5th at 1000.

    Here’s all the press stuff:

Wednesday 28th September, Eason, Ireland’s leading retailer of books, stationery, magazines and lots more, officially marks its 125th anniversary.

Eason will kick start the celebrations this evening with an exclusive invite only event in their flagship store on O’Connell Street, when guests will hear from a number of well known authors and friends of Eason; Maeve Binchy, Cathy Kelly and Paul Howard (aka Ross O’Carroll-Kelly). (more…)

Last Thursday as part of Arthur’s Day I got to meet Miles Kane. I loved this as we had spoken a few weeks previously and immediately Miles went on to tell me about his shopping excursion in Paris after we had spoken that day.

I also thought It would be a bit weird to go for another ‘hows the album going’ interview so we sat back, had a laugh and did a Smash Hits style twentyish questions, quick fire round.

It was actually loads of fun and Miles is a gent.. That’s twice he’s called me ‘Darling now’! Head over to Goldenplec for the interview.
