  • First Thursdays Dublin – September 1st

First Thursdays DublinIf you haven’t wandered around Dublin City on one of the First Thursday nights, you really are missing out. Last month I checked it out Temple Bar and there was a brilliant buzz.

It’s a night where reative spaces and galleries open their doors to the public after hours.. So instead of going late night shopping on a Thursday you can have a relaxing jaunt through the city centre and see what’s to offer.

The idea came from First Thursdays in London and the whole thing is organized by the good peeps at Temple Bar Cultural Trust. (more…)

  • Free Music Monday 29/08/2011: Ben Carrigan

bencarriganHow many of you have gone..’Ben Carrigan ? Where do I know that name from?’ It is he, one fifth of The Thrills back with a new solo album ‘The Greatest Narrators’, due out at the end of September. ‘You knew it all along’ is not a bad track, definitely a bit of a grower and it seems like Ben has been getting his teeth stuck into this one. (We’ll even forgive him for using Papyrus on his website.)

His bio tells me that Ben has been busy completed a course in Orchestral Studies in the Berklee School of Music and that he also has been busy doing scores for film and TV. There’s something I didn’t know!
