  • San Francisco Giants: World Series

Hell Yeah! The SF Giants are in the World Series 🙂 I still can’t believe it. The past couple of years have been completely crap for Giants fans but the past few weeks have made up for it all. Timmy takes the mound tonight in Game One against the Texas Rangers… Listen on KNBR, probably my favourite radio station on the planet. Damon Bruce reigns!

    Let’s Go Giants!

  • Futures Apart: Andrew’s Pride

futures apartSo seemingly out of nowhere, Futures Apart launched their debut single ‘Andrew’s Pride’ last week. Is it any good? well yeah, it is.

The Wexford band have produced a great piece of electro-rock, which they cleverly call futuromatic. With TimO’Donovan (Neosupervital) on production duties, it’s hardly surprising that this track is a catchy affair.

‘Andrew’s Pride’ starts with a manic build up before settling in to 21st century Duran Duran style. (Think Planet Earth before they got too poppy) The overall sound is quite familiar because of these influences but the injection of originality pushes Futures Apart into a class apart. Good musicianship, a memorable voice, a couple of really clever breaks in the song and great overall production make this a great debut.

They know how they want to sound and already have a great image. I’m impressed.  These guys could be huge.. Tipped!

  • Switchblade

This is one a trailer/pitch for Storyland, a RTE scheme for online film/television, visual if you will, production. This is really good, I also happen to know the Producer Declan Lynch, who is an extremely talented chap. Really like it! Tell your friends and even your enemies!

  • Vampires Sucks: Movie Review

Vampires-SuckI’m aiming to do this in 50 words or less.

So this ‘comedy/parody’ of the Twilight saga is in fact shite. I managed to watch 40 minutes of Vampires Sucks, it has one half decent joke about the Black Eyed Peas. Vampire Sucks was a waste of time and energy and just imagine how many small independent films could have been made with its budget.

Do yourself a favour, spend your ten euro on something else.

    It sucks!
