On Friday afternoon I gave my friend a hand filming this. I did the camera work. It’s not bad considering all Niamh’s bits were done in one angle, one take, two minutes in and out.
She was really nice too, hope she does well.

UPC – Customer Service, Not !
For about ten days, maybe even two weeks now I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my broadband connection. It keeps dropping, seems to do it moreso during the day.Now, I had assignments and stuff to do so yesterday was the first real chance I had to call and complain. I was on hold for 13 minutes before I got through to a ‘customer service’ rep.
I originally got UPC broadband nearly two years ago when I was living pretty close to the city centre and when I moved to my current address, UPC unfortunately didn’t over the area so I was using Clearwire. The speeds weren’t great but it worked.
When they installed the Broadband first UPC or Chorus/NTL, whatever they were called, also supplied a white netgear wireless router, which worked a dream and has been great for Wifi around the house and using the internet on our phones, especially great when I was on the sticks and couldn’t walk properly for seven months.
So when UPC starting offering Broadband here I jumped at the chance, I love watching baseball online and have a subscription to MLB TV. We also opted to get a landline number with the package. Along with TV channels, all in all UPC get 130 from us a month. That shouldn’t be sneezed at.

What Are You Like?
This is a new one! For obvious reasons I’m not posting this at the time of writing.
I have a radio show on DCUfm, quite a successful radio show thanks. I put a lot of work into it and all in all since September last year, I’ve done about 100 live radio shows, not counting prerecords.
You know sometimes you get a feeling about people and you can’t quite put your finger on what it is? I got that about two months ago with this person, who agreed to be in a college project and after all the more their mugshot is seen the better for them right?
I was then asked if they could get all the footage.. Answer: No I might add I actually didn’t reply to this, so if you’re reading this now, no, you can’t have a free video.
Being a sucker, I had agreed to let this person come on my radio show, might I add that Clare McKenna from Spin, judge at the DCUMI Hybrids said she was stunned by the standard of the show, cheers Clare.
The show is this evening. I’m doing assignments so that is obviously my priority at the moment. I didn’t check my emails til now. There was an email from the person. The person is NOT an artist, rather a manager. This is from it ‘We also have a short question & answer sheet. it would be great if you could integrate it into an interview – so XXX can explain some background to his album.’
Two words: Feck Off – you’re not Tom Cruise or Axl Rose and secondly how dare you try to get me to ask the questions you want me to ask…
I’m writing this before the show.. you wanted an interview? You’re going to get the toughest.

Froud: Open Up Your Mind Review
Monaghan band Froud have just released their new single ‘Open Up Your Mind’.
First impressions: I really like Martin O’Neills vocals, great strong rock voice. This is a mid-tempo well structured rock song, really well produced and good arrangements throughout.
Its not a million miles away from the Daughtry style of rock and should be totally at home on radio. I wouldn’t be surprised if this track took off for the band Stateside.
They’ve also signed some licensing deals lately, this release should be another step up the ladder.
