  • The Big Bang Theory Competition

    BigBangTheory

I’ve managed to get hold of a copy of Season One of The Big Bang Theory on DVD, which can be yours!

All you have to do is leave a comment, with a joke after this post and the comment with the best joke wins the 3 DVD set.

Haven’t Heard of The Big Bang Theory? The story follows Sheldon and Leonard, two nerdy physicists who get a new neighbour when Penny moves in across the hall. Add fellow nerds Raj and Howard to the mix and you get some extremely socially awkward moments..

Remember all you have to do is make me laugh as much as Sheldon does!

    Do your worst!

    Competition Closes Feb 8th 2010

  • Tune of The Week: 21/01/2010

    30_Seconds_to_Mars

This has been growing and growing on me for a while. These guys make some amazing videos, I’d show you the full version of this but the record compnies don’t want it embedded for some reason so here’s a shorter version.

With actor Jared Leto as a front man, most cynics were thinking this was going to be another Dogstar, but no, the actor who has been in such classics as Fight Club and Girl Interupted, I think has more than proved himself to be more than a half decent musician.

A Dublin date is on the cards too, the band will be here on February 26th in the 02, I’d love to see them but i’m broke so if anyone would like to give me tickets I’ll write about it all here and feature them on DCUfm… get in touch!

So this week’s Tune Of The Week is 30 Seconds to Mars, Kings and Queens

  • Sherlock Holmes/It’s Complicated/The Hangover Film Reviews

    sherlock holmesSherlock Homes:

Guy Ritchie has done an absolute wonder with this and Robert Downey Jr and (can’t believe I’m writing this) Jude Law are perfect in their roles.

Interesting story, could have been a little shorter but definitely one to watch.

This is may have been the vibe ‘Dorian Gray’ should’ve been trying to achieve… I love how Guy Ritchie added his vibe to this and there is room for a sequel – GO SEE!

    It’s Complicated:
    Its-Complicated

Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin, Stephen’s Celebrity Big Brother (hehe!) star in this rom com telling the story of a divorced couple who are verging on an affair, ten years after their divorce.

Steve Martin also stars as Meryl Streep’s potential love interest. It’s actually not that bad at all and while very funny in parts, at times I wanted to push the story along myself..

RomCom with the main characters in their fifties? Interesting call and it works.. Alec Baldwin is actually really good. Overall not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

    hangoverThe Hangover:

I haven’t got the foggiest idea why this film was as popular as it was. I was expecting a Road Trip/American Pie funny movie but it wasn’t. It was just ok.

The Hangover tells the story of a few buddies on a bachelor trip to Las Vegas and the ensuing dramas and catastrophes on the way to getting Doug up the aisle in one piece.

Whatever you’ve seen in a trailer, there are all the best bits in there.. Mike Tyson playing the air drums instead of the Cadbury’s gorilla is it… Don’t Feel Bad if you haven’t Seen it.. its an hour and a half of my life I won’t get back.

I’ve just seen a sequel is in development.. oh Man in the Sky!

  • Film Feeder!

    Feeder

Just got an email from the Feeder mailing list. They are encouraging people going to their upcoming gigs to film the events, using whatever camera you have.

If you don’t have a camera you could end up being their camera person for the night.. and get to keep the camera you use.. Not bad!

Find out more here and there are a couple of free downloads there too!
