I wrote this for MusicReviewUnsigned when I get a direct link I will update.
Listening to the new single by John, Shelly and The Creatures proved to be a slight headwreck. Where did I know that song from? Back to the PR notes.
‘Long May You Reign’ is currently featured on the TV advert for Discover Northern Ireland, though we only get a glimpse of what a great track this is. Sometimes listening pleasure can be changed by knowing a songs history, not this time.
How many Bands let you embed their new album’s stream in your blog or website? Not many, and it’s proving a great marketing tool and means of marketing for Vampire Weekend who release their second album ‘Contra’ this week. ‘Contra’ is the follow up to their debut, Vampire weekend which was released in January 2008.
The album starts off with ‘Horchata’, a track made available for free download in October 09 and being honest, got a few plays on my show on DCUfm’s Culture Cafe. It’s a pretty raw, rhythm led track with harmonious choirlike backing and refrain. Their African music influence is quite apparent here. Can someone tell me what Horchata tastes like please?
Myself and Laura finished our Media Art Project. The audio we used was Talking Heads, Once In A Lifetime however the nice people at YouTube wouldn’t let us use to and disabled the audio. So I took a track by Carla Holden called A Day In The Life, never heard of Carla Before..
