As part of the Darklight Film Festival, Mark Romanek is giving a masterclass next Saturday here in Dublin.. and I got a place, which I have to say I’m dead chuffed about!
He has made videos for people like Fiona Apple (the awesome Criminal), Jay Z and won a Grammy for the one he did for Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’. He also directed ‘Scream’ for Michael & Janet Jackson.
He also directed the movie One Hour Photo which starred Robin Williams.
Of Course I’ll give a report 🙂
Find out more about the Masterclass at the Darklight website here

Here’s Madonna’s Rain that Mr Romanek directed, always liked this song and the video, used to record it onto VHS from MTV Europe, before it went all regional.

The city centre nightscape has been a little different since September 24th. Thanks to Playhouse, Liberty Hall, Dublin’s tallest building has become a canvas for a nightime visual extravaganza.
By logging onto the website, visitors can create their own animations to be shown on the building, closing date is October 8th.
This all happened as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival which offically ends on 12th of October.
Mr Fionn Kidney must be commended for starting a Facebook group to get this as a permanent feature. You can Join the Group Here.
Here is one of my photos of the building from Sat 3rd October 2300
