Behaviourism 101 – now with subtitles

behaviourism-101-nessymonA couple of years ago, I posted this video on Behaviourism. It was an e-learning assignment for my Multimedia degree.

Since then it has had 180000 on YouTube, which is great, nothing at all to be sneezed at.

Why does the Behaviourism video have new subtitles?

I got an email from Deanna Keller, who is a Disability Services Assistant at Western Piedmont Community College in North Carolina.

Deanna’s job is to subtitle content that their students use. One of the instructors there is using our little video as part of their course. Deanna kindly generated subtitles, as the generic captions weren’t quite right. This means that all students, including hard of hearing students can now access the video.

Thanks Deanna, I’m delighted that the video is helping.

And before you all ask, yes, comic sans was intentional.

Had lots of fun doing this:

I’m submitting Version 2 here, but was asked to edit another video on the back of Version 1

Let me know what you think.

  • MTV For Dublin Promo Filming

About a month ago I interviewed David O’Keefe who founded the MTV for Dublin campaign.

The following week we had to come up with an idea for Projects for Multimedia in college. Everyone would vote for the ‘best idea’ and the top 11/12 would be made.

I came up with the idea to make a promo for The MTV campaign to promote Dublin, show that its an upbeat, cool, fun place to be. I had discussed my idea with David and he told me we could put the video on the MTV for Dublin site and Facebook page.

As these pages would be the kind of thing the MTV people would look at, you never knew you would look at it. Plus at last glance the facebook page had over 10000 members, so a lot of people could potentially see it.

  • MTV For Dublin

    I’m quite chuffed today.

Had to do a presentation for college and only the top 11/12 as voted by myself and my fellow classmates.

Two weeks ago on Culture Cafe I spoke with David O’Keefe who started the campaign MTV for Dublin to get the MTV European Awards to Dublin this year. During the chat I told him that if it happened I would get a George Michael inspired tattoo on my arm the day of the actual awards.

Thinking about it afterwards and the fact I had to come up with something for ‘Projects in Multimedia’ , I thought it would be a great idea to make a video promo/advert for Dublin on why the MTV Awards should be here in November.

We’ve three weeks to do it, myself, Blathin and Fionnuala, looking forward to it.

In the meantime check out MTV for Dublin
