The London Ear Show 263 // Janet Behan + Mundy

Hello! Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. I’ve a couple of fantastic guests on the show for you today. Actor and writer, Janet Behan and singer songwriter, Mundy.

    Interview with Janet Behan

    Janet Behan

It was lovely to chat to Janet and chat about her play ‘Why Shouldn’t I Go?’ which you can catch at the London Irish Centre on November 14-16.

Directed by Jessica Higgs, it tells the story of three very different Irish women and the effect religion has had on their lives and their rights as a woman.

Janet’s uncle was the late Brendan Behan, about whom she wrote her play, ‘Brendan at the Chelsea’. It starred Adrian Dunbar and toured to London, Belfast, New York and of course, Dublin.

You can find out more about the play on Facebook. You can get tickets on Eventbrite.

    Interview with Mundy

    Mundy

Mundy is one of those artists that I’ve always wanted to chat to but for some reason, I haven’t. Especially when he happens to be one one of my favourite film’s soundtrack.

I really loved this chat about his career, Romeo + Juliet, loves, life, and what he does to chill out.

Mundy plays Lost Lane in Dublin at the end of the month. Keep up with his live dates on his website. You can keep up with him on Insta, Facebook, Twitter and listen to his music on Spotify.

Hello people of the internet! How are you all?

The London Ear // Interview with Peco

On this week’s episode of The London Ear, I was delighted to get the opportunity to chat to Peco.

Peco is an artist I knew from Ireland and I haven’t seen him since I moved to London, even though I’ve played his music on the radio. He’s been a busy fella following the release of his album ‘The Middle Ages’.

Over the past while, he has been making regular gig trips to London and his next gig here will be in The Lucky Pig in Soho on October 29th. Do head down if you can.

You can find out more about Peco on his website, Facebook, Insta and you can also find him on Spotify.

  • The London Ear 260 // UPPBEAT

The London Ear 260 // UPPBEAT

Hello! Welcome to this week’s episode of The London Ear.

Living away from home is a weird thing. I try to keep up with music in London and with Irish music at home, not wanting to lose my connection with it. But, I’m not there going to gigs in The Academy on a Tuesday night, I will miss things, I know that.

    Chat with UPPBEAT

I was delighted recently when UPPBEAT got in touch on Insta. We were chatting away and he sent me his new track. I was blown away. I couldn’t wait to get the chance to play this on the radio for you.

The production is massive, it sounds huge but the lyrical content what was what really got me. UPPBEAT straight out tackles toxic masculinity and looks at suicide in the West of Ireland in his track. The upbeat track (no pun intended) delivers a beautiful juxtaposition with the lyrics. This is an hugely important Irish track.

I’m delighted that UPPBEAT joined me on the programme today to chat about his life, song and his career so far and his now famous, nay, infamous deliveroo jacket branding.

He’s a good bloke and deserves much success. You can find out more about him on Facebook and on Insta.
