Wes Dalton - Funny feckers comedy - The London Ear - nessymon

Today’s show featured a type of person that I’ve always been kinda scared to interview. What if I was crap? What if they had one liners I couldn’t respond to? Yes, I faced my fear and interviewed… a comedian!

Wes Dalton chats about Funny Feckers comedy night

Wes Dalton is an Irish comedian living in London and has set up not one, but two comedy nights in London.

Every Thursday Funny Feckers has a home in Slam in Kings Cross. Every second Sunday night you can head along to Little Feckers in The Constitution in Camden.

Entry is free and at the end of the night, you have the option of donating to a tip jar. Myself and Wes also chat about how you can get involved if you’re a budding stand up.

You can keep up to date with Wes on Twitter. You can find Funny Feckers on Twitter and on Facebook.

    Interview with Jack O’Rourke

Jack O’Rourke is a Cork musician with such a beautiful voice. It has a depth and warmth that many will envy. Think along the lines of John Grant or Leonard Cohen. He has just released his album ‘Dream Catcher’.

Tune of the Week // James Darkin – Chase

James Darkin Tune of the week nessymon.com

As I was putting this week’s episode of The London Ear together, I received an email from James Darkin with the video for this song. Immediately I emailed back asking for the track to play on the radio.

    Who is James Darkin?

James is an extremely talented sound engineer and producer. He’s head guy in Temple Lane Studios in Dublin and has worked on sessions for the likes of Rihanna and Will.i.am and has worked on mixes for Hozier, The Original Rudeboys and Plutonic Dust (who I love).

Why make Chase ‘Tune of the Week’?

I love James’ production and I love the electronic industrial-ness of ‘Chase’. This is an instrumental track and you don’t miss vocals. The track builds and ebbs beautifully. I’ve been playing it constantly since I heard it. Being totally honest, this is the kind of music I’d like to make.

Chase is the follow up to Needle Noise from earlier this year and is taken from ‘Go No Matter What’, James’ album due out on October 31st.

Hat tip also to Conor Donoghue for the ever so cleverly trippy video.
