Kiernan McMullan - The London Ear - nessymon.com

This episode of The London Ear heads across the Atlantic to a member of the Irish dispora based in Nashville.

    Interview with Kiernan McMullan

Kiernan McMullan is a musician based in Nashville. He went to secondary school in Ireland and also attended a Sound and Lighting Course in the Sound Training Centre in Temple Bar. His family still live in Ireland.

Kiernan has a new single out. “What’s for you (Won’t Go Past You) and it was great to catch up with him to chat about that. We spoke to Kiernan a while back on The London Ear and it was interesting and refreshing to hear a musician speak about how they had to take stock of everything and take a step back to recharge the batteries. We’re delighted Kiernan is now refreshed and ready to take on the world.

You can follow Kiernan on Facebook, Twitter and on his website.

Tune of the Week: James Vincent McMorrow – Red Dust

The air in EL Paso, Texas, must be something special. That’s where James Vincent McMorrow went to record his second album, ‘Post Tropical’, the follow up to ‘Early in the morning’. Although we’ve, so far, heard just two tracks, Cavalier and this new one, ‘Red Dust’, the sheer quality of these makes it look like ‘Post Tropical’ will be one of the great albums of 2014.

Red Dust was premiered on Complex last weekend and shows McMorrow is stunning form. He’s still got the beautiful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics but this feels like McMorrow is growing into the artist that he should be. Red Dust will make you tingle. That’s why it’s this week’s Tune of the Week.

Post Tropical is out on January 13 in the UK, you can pre-order it on iTunes.

[EDIT: 16/12/2013] The video for Red Dust just premiered on Rolling Stone. Here it is:
