I first got to know Erica Jennings when I interviewed her and Vee from her band Skamp. Incredible to think, that was 13 years ago.
Dublin born Erica is in with a shot of representing Lithuania in the Eurovision in Stockholm this year. This would be Erica’s second time to represent Lithuania. in 2001, Skamp repped Lithuania and finished 11th.
Now, Erica has written ‘Leading Me Home’. Determining the act to represent Lithuania, seems to have turned itself into an X Factor style series over a number of weeks. Erica, got through the first round and if I’m following correctly, tonight will determine the next stage / winner of their national contest.
Erica is married to the very talented and fun Jurgis Didiulis, from Inculto, who once recorded a radio session in my gaff in Glasnevin in Dublin, and he thought that the track, ‘Leading Me Home’, needed a more intimate feel and vibe. So, along with their two kids, set up some cameras and candles and this happened. A quite beautiful rendition.
