    DCU Multimedia Expo 2012

    Multimedia ExpoEvery year, final year students/about to be graduates in DCU hold an exhibition of their work.

    This year, is also my final year, so my classmates are showing off all their work with an event ‘DCU Multimedia Expo’ in The Venue in DCU which kicks off on Monday 28th May at 1930.

    There are some awesome projects to have a look at including web, video,animation and interactive projects. If you’re into how technology is changing and what you can do with it, you have to come have a look at this. I personally can’t wait to see everything.

    My thesis was a written project on ‘The Roll out of Digital Audio Broadcasting in Ireland and Explorations into the Future Radio Landscape’, so I got off the hook on this one.

    Don’t Forget Monday May 28th 1930, be there!

  • The Guardian: Three Little Pigs

    theguardianThis is one of the best ways I’ve seen anybody explain how news gathering and social media are amalgamating. Really clever, it really not only shows what The Guardian does but how different news outlets are using news. In reality, every journalist is a multimedia journalist now, with their new reports, features visuals and audio able to cross broadcast mediums. Awesome!

  • Insert Title Here – Experimental Spirits

    Myself and Laura Muresan did this for our Media Art Assignment under the title of Experimental Spirits.

    The story follows James, a regular guy, who is extremely dull and lives a monotonous life. One day he has a short dream in a lecture

    A hell of a lot of work , we reckon about 25 hours went into this. It stars James Russell Alford as the dude and a cameo appearance by Alan Markey as The Swot. This version of the piece features Directors commentary – Its not the finished version.

  • Productive Times Ahead…

    So by Friday, half of college is done :), Short year and a half if the truth be told and I really need a break! Still doesn’t feel like I had a Summer at all so I’m going to make the most of my spare time in January.

    I spent the past six hours video editing, which was good to get back into. Haven’t done much in a while but will have to get my skates on now. I have the project I’m currently working on to have finished by next week then I have two music videos to edit.

    I also have been asked to edit three videos in January which I’m really looking forward to and I will be making a hiphop video also in January..

    If it snows I hope its just enough to look nice in the video!
