San Francisco Giants‘ Rookie of the Year Buster Posey, was involved in a horrific collision with Florida Marlins’ Scott Cousins. The incident happened in the 12th inning of the game which ended at 7 am Irish time. The poor fecker broke his leg and will probably be out for the rest of the season. I just want to know why Cousins felt the need to plough into Posey who wasn’t actually on the plate at the time.

Confession: I Love The Giants
The countdown to the new season is on. The opening game against the Dodgers is at the next of next week, April 1st. My subscription to MLB.TV is all topped up, my browser points constantly to KNBR. My insomniac sleep patterns are switching to ‘Baseball’. It’s Giants time and I’ve been waiting since last November. When the Giants won the World Series, it seemed like the bunch of misfits were invincible. I so didn’t want last season to end. Spring Training games aren’t just for the players, they’re also for me to get back in sync with PST… ten days early, I’m ready, Let’s Defend this title! (more…)

My favourite sports person EVER, Brian Wilson, appeared on George Lopez the other night to promote the new MLB 2K11 game.
Can’t wait until Spring Training starts again in a few weeks, you can smell the new season already. Go Giants! Here’s Brian, I dare you not to succumb to his awesomeness!

2010 has been a strange year. It’s had its up and downs and some stuff happened that made me really think about what matters most.
Fcuk it!
It’s been a year for the Old Spice man and the iPad. A nerd had a movie made about him and Wikileaks leaked a bit too much. Ireland’s been in the news for all the wrong reasons, IMF, bailouts, unemployment and not being able to get out of the place quick enough.
The year I started doing a lot more writing and Elvis Costello and Plan B used my reviews in their websites and I got to review some great gigs and interview some amazing people. Thanks to everyone who came on the Culture Cafe on DCUfm.com and who listened whenever I hijacked the radiowaves.
We had three snowpocalypses/i and had more than one hot day.
I could go on talking about what music and films I enjoyed, who I loved, who I hated but no mini review could be complete without me mentioning the thrill of the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series.
