    Villagers: Nothing Arrived (Video)

VillagersbannerSeems Conor Villagers was very clever with ‘The Waves’. It kinda made people go ‘Hmm, what’s he doing?’ Allowing for a new, blank slate. Whether or not it’s been a hard task to follow up ‘Becoming a Jackal’ isn’t clear just yet, but going on ‘Nothing Arrived’, it doesn’t look like we’re going to be disappointed.

The video was directed by Alden Volney who also did the video for The ‘Waves’ and is taken from the album ‘{Awayland}’ which will be released on January 13th 2013. {Awayland} can be pre-ordered HERE.

Villagers: The Waves – Live and acoustic in Paris (Video)

The good folk at Le HibOO took the time out to film Conor O’Brien play his guitar and sing ‘The Waves’. If my memory serves me correctly this was filmed on Pont Marie in Paris and the night time cityscape is a gorgeous backdrop to hear ‘Waves’ acoustically. Beautiful.

The original version of ‘The Waves’ will appear on Villagers forthcoming album ‘Awayland’ which will be released in January 2013, the single is available now as a download or on vinyl on the Domino Records label.

    Villagers: The Waves (Video)

So here’s the new video for Villagers‘ ‘The Waves’ and sound of Villagers has certainly moved on since ‘Becoming A Jackal’, with its electronic twinkly bits and beeps. At the time of writing, I’m not entirely sure what I think of this, the dischord between the vocals and the instrumentation at the start of the track, irks the life out of me. But I love the song when it really kicks in.

It’s available to download on iTunes now and will be available on vinyl in October via Domino Records. No news of a second album release date or title yet.
