I’m going to be honest here, I don’t know a whole lot about Eye Emma Jedi except they have a cool name and they are based in London but based on their contact details on Facebook, they have some Norwegian connections.
I first heard their song ‘Sin’ a few weeks ago and I quite like their indiepop sound. There are a couple of tracks including ‘Sin’ available to download from their website or in the widget below the vid.
Imagine it’s September already? Of course that means we have sunshine and a little bit of heat on our Emerald Isle. As I recommend a free music download, I wanted to choose something today that could reflect our little, albeit late, Summer.
Sun City are Daniel Mackey and Tobias John from Perth, Australia (something about me listening to lots of music from Oz this week) and this track, The Follower, is an upbeat indie pop tune. Melikes!
The track can be downloaded for free from the band’s Soundcloud (embedded below) or can be bought on iTunes. It’s just one track to be taken from their ‘Set Alight’ EP.
Check out Sun City on Facebook or on their blog.
If you head over to the band’s page on Soundcloud, there are a couple of other free downloads there too, spoiled for choice eh?

This week’s Recommended Free Music comes from Dublin based trio, Trap Door. They manage to combine elements of punk, ska and indie. Think Jamie T having a free for all with Arctic Monkeys. Fresh, in your face and their EP, ‘Lata Town’ is free from bandcamp.
Watch the awesome video for Wake Up by Finn Keenan!

Today’s recommended free music comes from Birmingham band, The Traps. Your Headland has a lofi surf vibe and is’based on the capture story of Homer’s Odyssey by Calypso and a longing for the reassurance of familiarity the track demonstrates the band’s love for hooks, rhythm and compelling lyrical narrative.’ Hmm! I like it, interesting little video too! I’ll definitely be giving this a spin on the radio!
You can download ‘Your Headland’ directly from the band’s website
