I had the pleasure of interviewing Sam McTrusty of Twin Atlantic a little while back, lovely guy. The Scottish band are signed to Red Bull Records in Los Angeles and today’s recommended download ‘Time For You To Stand Up’ is available free from the band’s Facebook page and is taken from their album ‘Free’.

Free Music Monday 25/07/2011: Reid
This landed in my inbox about two weeks ago and I’ve had it on in the background when I was doing other stuff! But now I must repent, I’ve been selfish and it’s time to share it with you. Cork electronica mastermind Reid, has released his ‘Genesis’ E.P. through Bandcamp and Soundcloud. You’ve got everything from atmospheric to pumping in there, well worth a listen. -

Dublin Hiphoppers ‘The Infomatics’ have released a brand new track ‘New Era’ for free download. It also features 4Real.It’s three years since they released their debut ‘Kill or Create’ so hopefully this is a signal that a new album is on the way from them.

Free Music Monday 11/07/2011: The Civil Wars
This week’s recommended Free Music comes from indie folk duo John Paul White and Joy Williams better known as ‘The Civil Wars’.They got a break in 2009 when their song ‘Poison and Wine’ was used in Grey’s Anatomy and more recently they came into my consciousness as James Vincent McMorrow toured with them in America and they also opened for Adele. Check out their album ‘Barton Hollow’.
This recommended download comes from the Free Section of their website where you can download a full live album ‘Live at Eddie’s Attic’. This should give you a good idea of what to expect when they come to The Sugar Club in Dublin on September 1.
The download comes in a zip file here or using this link you can then download tracks individually. Any problems with those links? everything is available from the FREE section of their website.
