Download: Miley Cyrus Vs Sinead O’Connor – Nothing Compares To Wrecking Ball (Robin Skouteris Mix)

Of course, you’ve heard about the debacle on the interweb where dear ole Sinead has been trying to tell Miley to wise up. I’m not going to write about what I think of it except to say mental health issues are serious, nothing to be joked at and just like you can hurt your hand or your foot, your mental health can get hurt too and just because you can’t see a bruise doesn’t mean it’s not as or more important than the sore foot.

So Robin Kouteris got the two songs Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compare to You and Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball, mashed them up and come up with something a little special. It’s very good, pity there’s not more Sinead in there though.

Kouteris has been doing his mash up / remix thing for a while. His Pop Love 2012 could easily rival DJ Earworm. You can get more free downloads from his website or his Facebook page.

Download: The Gorgeous Colours – Bright Ideas

The Gorgeous Colours are back with a bang! Bright Ideas is available as a free download and is taken from the band’s forthcoming album ‘Bring Out The Axe’. The Gorgeous Colours released their debut in 2008 and followed up with ‘The Creatures Down Below EP’ in 2010, which showed them to have an uncanny knack for writing great melodies and harmonies with a certain quirkiness. They continued on trend with the track ‘It’s OK to be Normal’.

‘Bright Ideas’ is memorable and will have you humming the track afterwards plus I absolutely adore the drums on it, for some reason they remind me of OMD’s ‘Sailing on The Seven Seas’. I really like when the song breaks down, it almost sounds like the band have gone back and used the original demo for that segment of the song. Nice… So what are you waiting for? Click Download!

Download: Until The Ribbon Breaks – Wicked Games (Reimagination)

Two years ago I spoke to Pete Lawrie, he had signed to Universal and had just released his debut album. At that time, he spoke of wanting to try making new, different music and he wasn’t even sure what name it would be released under.

Since then Pete has been working under the moniker, Until The Ribbon Breaks and has shown himself to be quite prolific. His soundcloud account, filled with his remixes is testament to that. He also has a debut album release in the not too distant future. Last month Spin named him as one of the Best New Artists for June .

So UTRB has reimagined The Weeknd‘s Wicked Games and made it available for your lovely ears to enjoy. Well what are you waiting for ? Press that button!

Mobile users// if you can’t see the Soundcloud widget, here’s a link that will bring you straight to the Soundcloud file.
